Therm process Engineering Pvt. Ltd. designs and manufactures bright annealing furnaces for heat treating wire and components without heavy oxidation or scale. In bright annealing, the charge is heated and cooled inside a protected, controlled environment. Parts therefore come out clean and bright, with little or no pickling or descaling afterwards. Therm process bright annealing furnaces are available as electrically heated, LDO fired or gas fired units. Capacities range from 300 kg to 3 tons per charge. They are commonly used for annealing MS wire and tempering automobile parts. Share your material and load details for a recommendation.
What Is a Bright Annealing Furnace?
Annealing heats metal to a set temperature, holds it there, and cools it in a controlled way. This softens the metal, relieves internal stresses and restores ductility after cold working such as wire drawing.
In an ordinary air furnace, oxygen reacts with the hot metal surface and forms scale. The parts then need pickling, shot blasting or other cleaning. Bright annealing avoids this by keeping the hot charge away from air during heating and cooling. This is typically done with a sealed chamber or cover and a protective atmosphere. The surface stays clean, and the parts retain a bright finish.
Bright annealing furnaces are batch furnaces. A load of wire coils or components is charged, sealed, heated, soaked and cooled before unloading. The same controlled environment also suits other low-oxidation heat treatments, such as tempering of finished parts.
For wire drawers and component manufacturers, skipping descaling saves process steps, chemicals and material loss. It also gives a better surface for further drawing, plating or assembly.
Therm process Bright Annealing Furnaces
Therm process designs bright annealing furnaces for a range of heat treatment processes. It offers three heating options to suit the plant's energy supply and process needs:
1. Electrically heated Clean heating with fine temperature control; no combustion system is needed.
2. LDO fired Light diesel oil burners, for plants where oil firing is preferred.
3. Gas fired For plants with LPG, natural gas or other gaseous fuel.
Standard capacities range from 300 kg to 3 tons per charge. Chamber size and load arrangement are designed around the customer's coils or components.
Therm process manufactures its own burners, combustion blowers and related combustion equipment. Fuel-fired bright annealing furnaces are therefore supplied with a matched combustion system. The company also supplies inner covers for bell-type annealing furnaces and auto-ignition burners for bell annealing applications.
Process controls can be specified with microprocessor-based temperature control to hold the annealing cycle consistently from batch to batch.
